Everyone knows Maine is full of big, beautiful, famously scenic vistas. While viewing them straight on is a pleasure, it is an even greater joy to be surprised by new angles on them—and by beauty in unexpected places.
In Reflections of Maine, photographer Greg Currier proves he knows just how to do this. From a bold image of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse perfectly mirrored in a tide pool to bright, jazzily skewed reflections in the window of Monhegan Lighthouse, Currier proves he can find something fabulously different in well-known settings. He also reveals marvels in less obvious places: tiny worlds of wonder in the dewdrops clinging to a blade of grass, a grassy lake imbued with reflected autumn color.
Reflections of Maine is more than a photo book. It will cause Mainers, summer people, first-time visitors and those who simply dream of Maine to reflect in new ways on the visual magic that abounds here.
